Utawarerumono Cosplay - Aruru by Cramoisie Utawarerumono Cosplay - Aruru by Cramoisie
I'm on a roll today!

Ok, Aruru.

Rurururu.

Like almost always, ~Djheatha and I were cosplaying together at Otakon, this past 2007, and decided to go as Aruru and Eruru. Much humour insued from our collective familes.

This has three pieces. Wow. I think almost everything I made has three pieces. o.O

Anyway, this was F**KING HOT.
Actually, Heather almost passed out. (But I love you anyway!)
See, this fabric was reaaaaaaaaaalllllly cheap. So I bought it in March, forgetting that we would be wearing it in August.

Teehee?

Oh, and the designs on the sleeves were all made by me. Sadly.

Fabric: Heavy cream cotton, heavy navy cotton, heavy periwinkle cotton, and the red fabric of Satan.

Total Hours: Um...about 20. It wasn't as bad as her sister...

Aruru (c) Aquaplus? They made the original porn, but I dunno.

I actually did this from scratch when I made them, but Simplicity now makes a pretty accurate pattern. You should be able to find it either in a local fabric store (Hancocks, Jo-Anne, etc) or Online.

BTWs, the pattern number is 4080 and comes in sizes 6-20.

Good luck!!

Right now, I'm in near constant school, so probably not. Also, the fabric store near me closed. I really would like to, I just don't have the time! >.<

Break down the costume into basic parts. For example, Aruru has a Kimono, a Jacket and the Obi. The Jacket and the Kimono have very similar shapes, so find a kimono pattern, which you can find either online or in sewing stores under the costume patterns. The Obi is basically a long square. Once you can visualise it, it's easier to construct.
